One of my favorite things is helping my dad with the harvest. Driving a tractor with a cart to be filled with corn, or the combine that is mowing down the stalks. Once in a while, you will see a wild animal run from the end of the row: rabbits, coyotes, deer, pheasants, and many other creatures scurry away.
After filling up a load, we drive over to the bins to unload and auger it in (imagine a straw with a spiral pulling the corn up and into the top of the bin). While unloading, I snuck off to look at the cows. They were so curious, watching me with the golden sunlight gleaming on their ears. It was a really special memory.
